Armenia

The cradle of winemaking lies at the foot of Mount Ararat in Armenia. This fact is evidenced by 6000-year-old finds in the Areni-1 cave. Among other things, the oldest wine press in the world was discovered there. The small Caucasian country of Armenia, with around 3 million inhabitants, is about the size of Brandenburg. It is a mountainous country, as 90% of the area is more than 1000 meters above sea level. Due to the country's unique geography and history, the country's viticulture holds great and unexpected surprises that wine lovers shouldn't miss.
